Full Time Positions

GAIM Director

Math-M-Addicts (MMA, mathmaddicts.com) is a premier math program that is committed to working with students who have an interest in math beyond what is offered as part of school curricula.

One of MMA’s initiatives is Girls’ Adventures in Mathematics (GAIM, www.girlsadventuresinmath.com), a themed math Olympiad for upper elementary and middle school girls.  GAIM is seeking a Program Director who will be responsible for the management and expansion of the annual contest, both across the United States as well as internationally.  This person will help in planning, organizing and executing tasks needed, as well as manage GAIM staff.

Select responsibilities:

  • Help generate expansion plans
  • Maintain the task list and execute tasks from it
  • Interface with lawyers
  • Communicate with math department heads at independent & public schools
  • Find centers willing to host the Olympiad
  • Interview prospective hires, help make hiring decisions, manage staff
  • Order, print, and ship Olympiad materials
  • Oversee school registration
  • Host fundraising events
  • Coordinate GAIM PR and publicity
  • Submit grants to appropriate agencies
  • Respond to Email inquiries
  • Time permitting, assist with administration of the Math-M-Addicts program.  Tasks to include communication with parents, maintenance of data, school outreach, onboarding of teachers, etc.

Compensation

This is a full time position, reporting directly to the Creative Director of GAIM.  The schedule is flexible; the compensation is $45k - $65k per year.  A part-time offer will be considered upon request.

 

Volunteer/Part Time Positions

GAIM Regional Coordination Managers (RCM’s)

GAIM is seeking volunteer Regional Coordination Managers from every corner of the globe—from Arkansas to Zanzibar! RCM’s will be responsible for the outreach, planning, and successful execution of GAIM events in your geographic region.

Select responsibilities:

  • Liaise with STEM-oriented schools and Math-Circles
  • Help find new host locations and create partnerships for GAIM
  • Coordinate local GAIM public relations
  • Connect with team coaches, parents, and host-site contacts
  • Attend and facilitate GAIM at host locations

Compensation

This is an volunteer position. You will be expected to work around 2-10 hours per week. Please inquire about a potential stipend.
