On a snowy winter day in 2014, teachers at the Speyer Legacy School dreamed up the idea of a math competition for elementary and middle school girls, to foster their passion for math at an early age.

They enlisted the team at Math-M-Addicts to bring their idea to life.  And so, GAIM was born—a community-building, mind-bending, fun-as-heck math Olympiad for girls in grades 3-8.  Teams of four girls from the same school compete together to unravel mathematical puzzles inspired by phenomenal women from history.

Math-M-Addicts is a selective, rigorous Saturday math enrichment program in NYC for 5th through 12th graders that focuses on creative problem solving in a collaborative setting.  Students are introduced to advanced math topics in ways that build their critical, strategic, and logical thinking and communication skills.  Math-M-Addicts is able to offer some of the most advanced math curriculum to middle and high school students available in NYC because the founders and many of the teachers themselves are former math Olympiad contestants and winners.

The Speyer Legacy School is a K-8 independent school with a unique focus on accelerated learners. Speyer has always provided an unparalleled environment for accelerated learners, understanding that accelerated learners are happier and achieve more when offered a curriculum tailored to their specific abilities, and when surrounded with other high-achieving children.
